Welcome to this latest blog where we will be filling you in on the latest updates from us and the DVSA about driving examiner strike action

Driving Examiner strike action -December 2022 and January 2023

Which areas and which examiners will go on strike?

Various areas will be going on strike, to see a full list and more information visit the gov.uk website for more information. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/driving-examiner-strike-december-2022-and-january-2023

Not all of the examiners will go on strike. Some examiners will continue to work. Every test centre is different, so some test centres will, unfortunately, be affected more than others.

Learndrive courses are in the Northwest

Possibility of Strike action in our area is from Monday 19 December to 24 December.

What should I do if I have a test booked?

DVLA advise that you should go to your driving test appointment as planned if it’s on the date of strike action, unless DVSA contacts you to tell you not to go. DVSA will automatically rebook your driving test for you if it cannot go ahead because of the strike action. Contact us if you need any further help or advice.

Having more lessons…

If you are affected by strike action we would strongly advise that you keep up your practice and continue your lessons until your next test.

We advise pupils, especially on the intensive courses, to ensure they book a sufficient amount of lessons in order to become a confident driver and hopefully pass first time. We appreciate learning to drive is expensive but it is imperative to ensure you book enough lessons in order to become a safe and confident driver for life, remember your lessons are a lifetime investment!

Wishing you all a safe and happy journey with your learning to drive.
