Want to book the the test yourself? There are really two main ways in which you can book with the DVSA (This is the government organisation that manages tests); You can book online using the government online booking service- https://www.gov.uk/book-driving-test or if you have time to kill (as it can take ages to get through) you can book your car driving test by phone, you can call DVSA’s booking service on 0300 200 1122. In order to book a test you will need your driving licence number.
Driving test availability and waiting times
We get asked this question all the time and it can vary dramatically. It can depend on what area you live in, who you book with (eg a company or instructor), sometimes it can just be a case of luck! The average waiting time for a practical test booked through the DVSA is 6 months, sometimes there are not even any tests available to book. We often have cancellations so it is worth being added to our cancellation list (priority for cancellations is given to pupils that are already booked in with us)
How to get an earlier driving test date
